Infographics and Illustrator
Monday, 10:30 am – 11:30 am Central
We create infographics to tell stories; that story may be how many products have been sold over time, how well a particular aspect of your business is performing, or how a particular item or situation has developed. Creating infographics is one of the biggest asks for designers these days, and Illustrator is the perfect tool for the job in many respects—but you need to have a wide range of skills at your disposal.
In this session we’ll be taking a look at the approaches used in a timeline infographic and some techniques that will help you wrangle the chart tools in Illustrator. Using an account of a real-world case and the Illustrator tools, you’ll learn:
- Planning to tell a story
- Dealing with irregular scales
- Creating a chart where no usable chart type exists
- Use the chart tools in Illustrator to create non-standard charts without losing the connection to the data
