    Leonard Rosenthol

    Leonard Rosenthol is a Senior Principal Scientist with Adobe Systems and serves as their PDF Architect having been involved with PDF technology for more than 20 years. Recently he also took on the responsibility for architecture of their Content Authenticity Initiative. In his role as Senior Standards Representative for Adobe, he represents Adobe on various international standards bodies including the ISO and W3C. Prior to joining Adobe (for the first time) in 1996, Leonard was the Director of Advanced Technology for Aladdin Systems and responsible for the development of the StuffIt line of products.

    Thomas Phinney

    Thomas Phinney is The Font Detective, as well as CEO of FontLab, the company whose font design tools have been used to create most of the world’s retail fonts. He is a type designer (Adobe Original Hypatia Sans, Cristoforo), and was the first Adobe employee to have both design and technology patents (four so far). A “big three” auto maker and a major California city are among his many expert witness clients. Last year Thomas gave sworn testimony in a lawsuit against Justin Timberlake and Will.I.Am. He has also been consulted on questioned documents by The Washington Post, The Dallas Morning News, PBS television’s History Detectives, BBC News, NPR, the US Treasury, and many others. Since 2004, Thomas has served on the board of ATypI, the global typographic organization. Preparation for his career included an MS in printing and typography from the Rochester (NY) Institute of Technology, and an MBA from UC Berkeley.

      Nolan Haims has decades of experience designing visual communications for the largest brands and organizations. He trains organizations to communicate more visually and create compelling stories with data. Nolan speaks at national conferences, writes extensively on visual storytelling, and is one of the co-hosts of the long-running Presentation Podcast. As one of only 15 Microsoft PowerPoint MVPs in the U.S., he regularly advises the PowerPoint development team on the industry standard software.         I’m an entertainment retoucher with a photographer’s soul. My work tells stories rendered in pure light. Because, at the end of the day, it’s all about the light. Capturing it. Refining it. Harnessing it to create mood. Theme. Stories. I have worked in the entertainment ad industry for the last 30 years.

        Graduated from Art Center College of Design with a BS in Photography. My undergraduate study was in Art History/Studio Arts minor from San Francisco State University.

        Dian Holton is Senior Deputy Art Director at AARP and a freelance visual/brand associate for the GAP. Her background includes publishing (print/digital), integrated marketing, retail installation, styling most recently footwear designer. She currently serves on the AIGA Washington DC chapter board as their Strategic Initiatives which oversees the Design Continuum Fund scholarship, Design for Good, Womens Leadership and Design for Democracy.
